The 2020 pandemic forced us all to reimagine connection. When people could no longer travel, I asked myself, what if I could send a little taste of Blacksburg to them? It started with simple care packages for friends: a collection of local favorites that captured downtown favorites. That first box in October 2020 wasn't a business plan, it was love in a box.

Initially, I just wanted to help friends feel connected to home, but the idea quickly evolved into something much greater. It was apparent there was a void in the marketplace and this idea was creating a bridge between our local artisans/establishments and people everywhere who valued authenticity, small-batch quality and a taste of home.

The vision began to expand from 'care packages for friends' to 'celebrating small and local' across Virginia. Each box tells a story through carefully selected products that embody the warmth and authenticity of the New River Valley.

Today, The Burg Box has grown into the region's premier gifting solution, serving individuals and companies who value artisanal quality, authenticity, and local impact. As we begin expanding across the state, our mission remains unchanged: supporting small and local businesses while delivering genuine connections and meaningful experiences through thoughtfully curated boxes.
